I never thought I would find myself turning to microdosing magic mushrooms as a tool for personal growth. Like many, I once associated psychedelics with wild, mind-bending experiences. But over time, I started to hear more about microdosing—the practice of taking sub-perceptual doses of psilocybin to enhance mental clarity, creativity, and emotional well-being. Intrigued by the growing research on its potential benefits for depression, anxiety, and productivity, I decided to embark on my own microdosing journey. In this blog i will tell you everything about my personal journey on microdosing magic mushrooms
Well, before I start about this blog, I want to make it clear that a micro dose impacts everyone differently. Please do your own research as this is my personal journey and experience with microdosing magic mushrooms. I want to share my story about how it affected me for the better and how it didn’t.
Almost ending and writing this personal blog, I want to say that I fully support the movement of microdosing shrooms and thats why I started microdosemagic.ca. Happy to help and research how it can benefit beyond anyone’s help. Keep in mind I have never touched shrooms, not even in high school. I was hesitant at first, but I wanted to know for myself that what I was searching for was correct.
Why I Chose to Microdose
For years, I struggled with low-level anxiety and mood fluctuations. Easy to anger and just losing motiviation. While it wasn’t debilitating, it often left me feeling stuck in a fog of overthinking and lethargy. Traditional treatments never quite clicked for me—I wanted something that felt more natural and holistic.
After reading personal accounts and studies showing promising results, I felt compelled to give microdosing a try. I spent weeks researching, learning about dosage schedules, and preparing myself mentally. The idea wasn’t to get high but to subtly shift my mental state and see if it could help me break through my mental roadblocks.
First Week: Micro Dose
To keep this short in the first week, I did not notice much about the micro-dose besides me overthinking about how it’s going to affect me. The thinking went away as I kept it as a “normal” morning routine and acted like I never did it. However, I did notice myself getting zoned into things and staying up late doing the hobbies I enjoy. During the first week, I was skeptical. I didn’t feel any immediate changes—no euphoric bursts or sudden revelations. But by the following week, I began to notice subtle differences
End Cycle Of Microdose
Now, this is where it gets interesting. As days went on, The time was going by faster than usual. Micro-dose changed my life and here’s why. My mind was more occupied doing things and thinking overall for the positive. I am usually a procrastinator and always try to delay things until the end. As my daily errands go by, I was knocking them down with ease and, before you know it, my days over. I noticed I was thinking of more ideas for my business and was trying to work a little harder and not procrastinate. Microdosing magic mushrooms was giving me the boost i needed
My thoughts were more positive, and my days were enjoyable at the end of the night. Now I can see how this can affect people for the worst or better. This experiment on myself made me into a more motivated person than I used to be. Although I won’t be continuing to micro dose until a few more months, I highly recommend anyone to look into this for a little boost in your life. Now it can help in different ways and open new things that you never realized.
BAD EFFECTS
However, I had some bad effects that was minimal but still strange to me. Micro-dose really is life changing as an individual, I have a terrible temper. I get mad at things easy, and when I do, it’s overboard. In the first 15 days, I was getting triggered by such small things. Although when I got angry, I calmed down easier.
At first, microdosing felt strange. It was subtle yet unpredictable—I found myself getting angrier more easily, but also calming down faster. I overthought everything, whether I was happy or upset. It was a conflicting experience, and for a while, I questioned whether it was even worth continuing.
As I approached the end of my 15-day protocol, I took my usual two-day break. Surprisingly, during those off days, I felt happier and more emotionally balanced than ever. That was the turning point. I decided to stick with it and complete the full cycle.
After 15+ days, I settled into a steady daily rhythm. Looking back, I can say with confidence that it was a fantastic journey for the better. Microdosing not only helped me recognize and start working on my anger issues, but it also made me a more positive, patient, and hard-working person.
Now, whenever I feel myself drifting off course, I know that microdosing is something I would turn to again. It has the power to keep your mind active and reflective—it makes you think, sometimes deeply and late into the night. But in the end, the clarity and growth it offers are worth it.

Key Points
- Improved Mood: I felt more emotionally stable. My usual morning irritability faded into a gentle calmness.
- Enhanced Focus: At work, I found myself more engaged and productive. Tasks that once felt tedious were easier to tackle.
- Creativity Boost: I started journaling more freely. Words and ideas seemed to flow with less self-censorship.
These changes weren’t dramatic, but they were steady and consistent.
Deeper Emotional Awareness
By the third week, I noticed that microdosing had a surprising emotional effect. I became more attuned to my feelings. Instead of repressing difficult emotions, I could sit with them calmly and process them without judgment.
One moment that stands out was during a morning walk. I found myself deeply immersed in the scenery—the colors of the leaves, the warmth of the sun on my face. It was a subtle but beautiful sense of presence, something I hadn’t felt in a long time.
Challenges Along the Way
While my experience was largely positive, it wasn’t without challenges.
- Inconsistent Effects: Some days, I felt more benefits than others. I learned that factors like sleep, diet, and stress could influence how the dose affected me.
- Mild Fatigue: On occasion, I felt slightly tired or spacey. Adjusting the dose downwards helped reduce this.
- Integration Required: Microdosing wasn’t a magic fix—it worked best when paired with mindful practices like journaling, meditation, and self-reflection.
- Anger: Like I said above, my emotions were inconsistent but it was mainly my anger
Reflections After A Month Of Microdosing
By the end of my 1 month microdosing magic mushrooms journey, I felt noticeably different:
- More Grounded and Present: The mental fog I once carried had lifted. My mind felt clearer, and I found myself more mindful in daily interactions.
- Reduced Anxiety: While I still experienced occasional stress, it was far less overwhelming.
- Creativity and Motivation: I felt more inspired to engage in creative pursuits—writing, drawing, and even picking up old hobbies.
Would I Recommend Microdosing?
Absolutely—but with a few caveats. Microdosing isn’t a cure-all. It didn’t magically erase my worries or make life perfect. However, it gave me a sense of mental clarity and emotional stability that I hadn’t experienced in years.
If you’re considering microdosing, my advice would be:
- Do Your Research: Understand the risks, benefits, and proper dosage schedules.
- Start Low and Slow: It’s better to start with smaller doses and gradually increase if needed.
- Integrate Mindful Practices: Journaling, meditation, or therapy can help you make the most of your microdosing experience.
Final Thoughts
My microdosing journey was a gentle but powerful reminder that even small changes can have a profound impact. It helped me reconnect with myself, soften my mental edges, and rediscover creativity and emotional presence. While it’s not for everyone, it became a valuable tool for me—a small dose of magic that made a big difference.
